The address of Yerevan Mayor on the International Day of Disabled persons
Since 1992 December 3 has been marked as the International Day of the Disabled People. This Day is another occasion to draw the attention of the public to the problems of the disabled people and for making up new programs directed at their full integration in the society.
The Municipality of Yerevan in its turn tries to put into life the programs which will give the opportunity to make our capital more available for our co-citizens with disabilities.
I am sure that everybody has noticed that particularly this year we have carried out a number of activities in Yerevan streets, pavements, repaired parks and other public areas having constructed wheelchair tracks. By the way, this year for the first time we have disbursed financial means from the community budget especially with this purpose, however we can’t consider this enough. Nevertheless, we have recorded that the first step has been taken and it's very important to carry on this program not only with the construction of wheelchair tracks but in other directions as well.
Dear friends, be confident that the problems concerning you are at permanent focus of the Municipality and personally mine and we are doing our best to solve them as soon as possible. I wish strong health to you and your families.
