Yerevan Mayor awarded a number of representatives of art, culture, sport, health and social spheres On the event of the New Year Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan hosted a number of representatives of art, culture, sport, health and social spheres of the capital. Congratulating them on the coming holidays the Mayor referred to the reforms performed in the spheres in 2012 and stressing the particular role of each field expressed confidence that next year the achievements would be more wide-ranging. "Wishing you a Nappy New Year and a Merry Christmas I also wish happiness, love and peace to your families, Let the year of 2013 be a year of new achievements, success and rise in all the spheres", said Taron Margaryan in his greeting speech. For great contribution to the spheres of music art, literature, culture, spiritual education, television and radio and for fruitful activity the following persons have been awarded with Mayor's gold medal: Armen Budaghyan, playwright Karine Khodikyan, RA People’s Artist Zulum Grigoryan, the director-inspector of Hayordats Tun (Home for Children of Armenia) of the Armenian General Benevolent Union Komitas Vardapet Hovnanyan, the director of public radio Armen Amiryan. The Mayor’s gold medals were also handed to the director of the polyclinic N 15 Hakob Harutyunyan and to the sportswoman of the Youth and Children’s sport school of sport and logical games Lilit Giloyan for the contribution to health and educational and sport spheres correspondingly and for conscientious work. Another 20 representatives of the spheres were awarded with honorary and thanksgiving diplomas. Expressing gratitude to the Mayor for appreciation the awardees confessed that the award makes them feel more obliged and they will do their best for their beloved capital. In the foyer of the City Hall Taron Margaryan listened to the concert of the pupils of art and music schools achieved success in the international competitions.
